Global Breastfeeding Challenge
I’m very excited to be coordinating the Dallas/Ft. Worth site of the Quintessence Global Breastfeeding Challenge. I was thrilled to be a participant last year, so when our organizer moved, I jumped in to make sure we could do it again. I also want to thank my new friend Vasha for jumping in and helping out!
Short version, the Challenge is for the record for the most children breastfeeding simultaneously at 11am local time in a set geographic area – a province, territory or state and country (US & Canada) as a percentage of the birth rate. It is held to celebrate breastfeeding and mil-banking, and demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding women and their families. It’s a chance for education and peer support done in a fun social way.
So, if you are local, our event information is below. However, if you are not in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, head over to the Quintessence Foundation web page to set up a local site of your own. It only takes two nursing pairs to qualify as a site, so sign up and latch that nursling on!
